Wintry Conditions Continue 12-6-13

Icy roads and sub-freezing temps will prevail until Sunday

Icy conditions will persist as temperatures stay below freezing.

Roads are still treacherous out there with a thick layer of ice and sleet coating the roadways.

The precip came to an end around 8:30 AM, but we can't shake what's already out there.

Temperatures will climb from the lower 20's this morning into the upper 20's/lower 30's this afternoon.

Above freezing temperatures will mainly be confined to areas south and west of the Pecos River.

Skies will be mostly clear by this afternoon, and depending on the amount of sunshine, we may add a couple of degrees above the forecasted highs.

With those mostly clear skies, lows will drop into the teens across the area with wind chills in the single digits for some areas.

Another chance of seeing some freezing precip across the area, but only a slight chance there.

Temperatures remain below freezing for your Saturday, so untreated roads will still be treacherous.

Highs will be a few degrees cooler than today, mainly in the mid 20's.

Much warmer day expected here, with highs in the 50's.

Colder behind another strong front with highs right around the freezing mark.

We warm back into the 40's and 50's next week.

No measurable precip expected over the next 7 days.
