Warm weekend, then return to average temperatures 9-6-13

High pressure begins to slide east, allowing West Texas to cool slightly
This weekend we are expecting slightly above-average temperatures in the mid-90s.

There is a slight, 10% chance of rain for the mountain areas, SE New Mexico and even parts of the Basin.

High pressure, which had been keeping us hot with above-average temperatures, will begin to slide to the east.

This will allow West Texas to return to near normal temperatures for September later into next week.

Average for this time of year is around 90/65 for Midland.

We could see more afternoon storms on Mon/Tue in the mountain areas.
