UPDATE: Police Investigate Fourth Midland Homicide for 2013

One person is dead and another person is arrested. Midland police confirming a homicide.
Midland Police now releasing the names of those involved in Midland homicide.

Here's the latest release from police:

One man is in jail after a homicide took place Sunday evening in Midland.

Pete Ballez Jr., 20, of Midland, was charged with murder after Midland police found 20-year-old Cameron Massey, also of Midland, deceased at a residence located in the 4300 block of Parkdale Drive.

Police responded to a disturbance call at the residence at approximately 9:22 p.m. and found Massey lying just outside the front door of the residence. Massey had suffered one gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Ballez was also located at the scene and was taken into custody by Midland police.

The investigation into the homicide continues. Next of kin have been notified.


MIDLAND -- One person is dead and another person is arrested. Midland police confirming a homicide. The shooting happening in the 4300 block of Parkdale just after 9:00PM Sunday night. Police believe two people got into a fight inside a home, then took the fight outside to the front lawn and that's when the suspect shot the victim. We're told the victim died at the scene.

At this time, witnesses on scene say they heard one gun shot, but there's a chance multiple rounds could have been fired.

The names of the suspect and the victim not being released yet.
