UPDATE: After speculation about a possible FBI investigation into the finances of the city of Alpine, we reached out to the local branch and a spokesperson for the branch said they can neither confirm nor deny any investigation.

ALPINE -- Alpine could soon have another new city manager.

Three candidates were selected earlier this week in a closed door executive session.

Alpine has had numerous changes in city leadership since 2012.

Then earlier this year the Texas Rangers began investigating the city's finances.

The most recent city manager Chuck Harrington, resigned on August 30 after less than five months on the job.

The city is set to interview the three finalists on November 12.
