TEXAS -- 13 years ago November 7 marks the last time the state of Texas went one day without a roadway fatality.
Over the last 13 years, more than 45,000 people have been killed on Texas roadways, and TxDot is using this grim anniversary to remind drivers to stay alert and practice safe driving habits.
This means avoid distractions like using your cell phone while driving, always wear a seatbelt, follow speed limits and reduce your speed if weather conditions are present, and never drive if you've been drinking.
