Two Arrested for Slew of Crimes

Reports show the vehicle failed to stop for the officer and a short pursuit occurred.
BIG SPRING -- A police officer with the Big Spring Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 900 block of E. 3rd when he observed the driver act suspicious and observe the vehicle had no front license plate.

This happening on December 22, 2013 just after noon.

Reports show the vehicle failed to stop for the officer and a short pursuit occurred. The vehicle finally came to a stop in the 1200 block of E. 2nd at which time the driver was identified as Michael Roy Roberson, who exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police say after a short foot pursuit, Roberson was taken into custody. The arrest of Roberson led officers to the “Scottish Inn” at 1203 E. 3rd where Officers found an associate of Roberson identified as Comanecki Loper Thacker “CoCo”.

After an investigation, officers found Roberson and Thacker was in possession of two stolen firearms, 390 grams of methamphetamine, Marijuana less than 2 ounces and a quantity of Hydrocodone. Roberson was also wanted by FBI Abilene on a previous investigation with the Big Spring Police Departments Narcotics Unit for Conspiracy to Deliver a quantity of Methamphetamine.

Thacker was booked into the Howard County Jail for Delivery Controlled Substance PG1, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of Controlled Substance PG3.

Roberson was transported to Abilene to be arraigned before a Federal Magistrate.
