Thousands of UPS Packages Didn't Arrive By Christmas

UPS customers say packages they ordered weeks ago are in shipping limbo.
DALLAS -- UPS customers say packages they ordered weeks ago are in shipping limbo.

They're in the area warehouse, but they can't get them. That's because the company says they haven't been processed. UPS does still say the ice storm hit just as the holiday shipping rush did and it created a backlog from which they've yet to recover.

The company has brought hundreds of extra hands to the DFW region, and it now appears they will even spend Christmas here working non-stop, hoping to get everything where it belongs by the holiday, but stopping short of a guarantee.

UPS says the delays are nationwide and posted an apology on its website. The company blames a system overload. UPS says packages should reach customers by Thursday.
