MIDLAND -- Part of a major Midland intersection was closed for more than eight hours Monday due to a tanker truck rollover.
It happened just before 10 a.m. when the tractor trailer overturned at F.M. 1788 and Hwy. 1901.
The spilled fuel is the reason why it took so long to clean up and get traffic flowing normally again.
Midland police say they don't believe speed was a factor in the accident.
They think the sharpness of the turn and the momentum of the substance the truck was carrying were the major reasons why the truck overturned.
The driver did receive minor injuries but he refused treatment at the scene.
The intersection was fully reopened by 9:30 p.m.
