Rain Chances and Cooler Weather Return 9-26-13

A cold front will bring us chances for rain and some temperatures that are more fall-like.
After several days of nothing but sunshine, we will start to see clouds moving in on Friday.

Friday afternoon will be breezy with sustained winds ranging between 20 - 25 mph and wind gusts around 25 - 30 mph.

Our rain chances begin on Friday with a 20% chance of thunderstorms. We increase that to a 40% chance of rain on Friday night and continue that into Saturday.

Friday afternoon and evening we could see strong thunderstorms in the Basin with the possibility of large hail, heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

This is all thanks to a surface trough moving through on Friday and a cold front moving through our area on Saturday.

Friday's temperatures will be slightly cooler with highs in the upper 80s. Areas such as Mentone, Monahans, Wink, Kermit, Pecos, Presidio and parts of Big Bend will see highs in the low 90s.

Sunday we start clearing out and hang on to mild highs in the low 80s.

Monday we warm back up to the upper 80s and back to the 90s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
