Permian Panthers Lose Two Starters; Prepare for S.A. Central

In what has already been a tough year, the Permian Panthers have two defensive starters quit the team prior to the teams big game against S.A. Central.
The Permian Panthers have had a tough start to the 2013 season under new head coach Blake Feldt, but the Panthers are in the thick of things when it comes to the playoff picture in District 2-5A.

Sitting tied for 4th at 2-2, the Panthers need all the help they can get from their players to finish off the 2013 campaign strongly. Permian will head to San Angelo on Friday night and take on the 6-1 Central Bobcats who boast the district's highest scoring offense. That means Permians defense will need to be almost perfect. It doesn't help out that the Panthers had two defensive starters quit the program last week, and one of those players was a team captain.

But Feldt knows his team will be ready and prepared on Friday night, and he's confident in the players who will step up in place of the two players who left the program.

Feldt said "We're just gonna go on. We've moved a couple of kids up that have done a great job on the Junior Varsity. We've been talking about moving a freshman up that's done a fantastic job for us on the freshman team. He's a great athlete and he's done well the last week and a half. We're excited about him and we're excited about those younger kids It gives those guys a great opportunity to get in and to get some playing time."
