Permian Defense Faces Final Test With Playoffs On the Line

The MOJO defense allowed 42 points to Midland Lee, and if they want a shot at making the post season they will need to play better against Lubbock Coronado.
Permian lost to Midland Lee 42-21 on Friday night, but the Panthers are still alive in the District 2-5A playoff race.

The MOJO are one of four teams tied for the fourth and final playoff spot, and for them to make the playoffs they need to defeat Lubbock Coronado on Friday night and have Midland High lose to Abilene High.

Before any of that can happen though, Permian head coach Blake Feldt wants to make sure his defense steps up their game.

Feldt said "We're struggling on the defensive side of the ball and we were struggling against the defensive side against a team like Lee -- you're gonna have a hard time winning the football game and we're struggling on defense right now. We've got to get better this week because we're playing a very good offensive team in Lubbock Coronado and it's a huge game for us with playoff implications."
