OHS Can't Take Advantage of Opportunities in Week Zero Loss

Odessa High head coach Ron King's Bronchos were inconsistent on offense in their first game of 2013, something that needs to be worked on for OHS.

Odessa High had a strong start in their season opening game versus Amarillo last Friday night, but it was the finish that wasn't so strong for the Bronchos.

The Bronchos had to settle for a field goal on their opening drive after having first and goal inside the Sandies five yard line. Amarillo would then go on to score five unanswered touchdowns on their way to a 35-3 victory.

Coach Ron King said on his team’s performance, "We didn't really give ourselves much of an opportunity due to the fact that we weren't consistent offensively and then defensively -- just giving up big plays and not really stopping them on third down conversions. When you look at the game, we had the same amount of yards as Amarillo. Problem is, they were a little more efficient with their offense than we were."
