ODESSA -- The City of Odessa passed their annual animal control state inspection Thursday.
State officials paid a visit to the shelter Thursday.
Animal control officials says there are three ratings for the annual inspection, satisfactory, unsatisfactory and probation.
In this inspection, the shelter got a rating of satisfactory for both cleanliness and for their veterinary practices.
Animal control officials want to use this opportunity to remind you of ways you can keep the pet population under control.
The state did give some recommendations to the shelter, such as a more isolated euthanasia room, fence repairs so they're able to hold livestock, and an adoption area.
All three of these are in the works already, according animal control officials.
