The McCamey Badgers are fired up for the 2013 season. With 13 returning starters on both sides of the ball, the Badgers have one goal in mind.
"I mean we all have the same goal as a team. Individually we all want to make it to the state championship and become state champions. You know getting to the top is one thing, and staying there is the hardest part. The hardest part will be to get another district title" said Senior Quarterback Jordan Zarate.
Returning on defense is Josh Molina, the honorable mention All-State defensive end will take the reigns on a veteran Badger defensive squad. New Head Coach John Fellows knows what he will get every day from his senior leader.
Coach Fellows said "He brings to the table this is how we do things. He shows it by not only how he handles himself on the field, vocally and non-vocally. Just by his actions of working hard and playing hard."
When asked about his offseason workouts and what he did to stay ready for 2013, Molina stated "It takes work to be at the top. You just have to put all that work in. You just have to want it. It's all about want."
The Offense will bring speed and space, making sure to get the ball to their best athletes as often as possible. So what's the key for the Badgers to bring home a district title in 2013?
"I think our key is how well we come together as a team. If we can stay healthy, buy in, and have that family atmosphere I think we should be fine” said Fellows.
