Local Authorities Take Command Of Little Bear Wildfire

The Little Bear Wildfire near Ruidoso has now been burning for nearly a month.
RUIDOSO, N.M. -- The Little Bear Wildfire near Ruidoso has now been burning for nearly a month.

This weekend authorities transitioned incident command for the fire back to local officials.

Firefighters say the fire is 95 percent contained now.    

It's destroyed more than 250 buildings and torched more than 44-thousand acres in the Lincoln National Forest.
   
More than 215 fire personnel are working to completely put out the flames.
   
Authorities say a lightning strike sparked the flames on June 4th.
