Lee Rebels begin Spring Practice; 6 Rebels sign to play football in College

The Lee Rebels began spring football practice this afternoon, after seeing six Rebels sign on to play college football this morning.
Spring is in the air. We took a quick look at the Odessa Bronchos spring practice last week, and now this week the Lee Rebels kicked off their spring practice.

The Rebels are inputting a new offensive scheme for 2013, and head coach James Morton thinks he has the tools on the offensive side of the ball for things to work out nicely as long as they stick to the fundamentals.

"I think our receiving core is real solid, I think our running back situation is good. We're looking for some of those linebackers to step up. I think Brevis Turner turned out to be a great player for us last year, he's got to extend his role as a linebacker and be a better leader for us this year" said Morton.

Not only will the Rebels be seeing a lot of new faces in 2013, they also said goodbye to old players as six Rebel seniors signed on to play college football this morning.

Even though some have known where they've been going for quite a while. Coach Morton said the players wanted to sign all at once as a family.

Quarterback Talor Nunez will be a preferred walk on at Texas Tech University.

Running back Jason McAfee is headed to Angelo State.

Talmage Cockerell and Reilly Gwin are both headed to Abilene, Cockerell to Hardin Simmons and Gwin to mcmurry.

Michael Morales will play at Wayland Baptist.

Waylon Roberson will enjoy a full ride to New Mexico Military.
