Rain or shine, the Kermit Yellow Jackets will be determined to turn things around in 2013. One positive change that's already been made is new head coach Arick Heredia.
"Coach Heredia brings an up tempo beat. He has us all pumped up in the weight room, out here on the field. He's just a really good guy."
Coach Heredia brings an approach of tradition, making sure that this year's team sets the standard for years to come.
"You know to come together as a team with one goal and one heartbeat. We're going to honor those who came before us every time we play and we're going to set the bar high for those to come."
Junior Jantzen Michel was an All-District safety in 2012, and he will need to be just as dominant under center at Quarterback in 2013 for the Yellow Jackets to have a shot at stinging their opponents.
"We just need to strengthen our defense. We're going to build on our new offense. Our high power offense needs to come along with our defense."
A hidden key for Kermit this season, the team already knows what needs to be done in order to compete in District 2-2A.
"So we just have to make sure we give a 100% effort every day that we're out here" said Coach Heredia.
"Going 100% everyplay and if we can do that then I think we'll be fine" added Aubrey.
