Ice Scraper Shortage Causes Headaches For Some In The Basin

Retailers are having a hard time keeping ice scrapers on the shelves.

MIDLAND -- If you're vehicle wasn't in a garage over night it was most likely covered in ice Friday morning.

There's been no shortage of the sleet and freezing rain mixture.

And now retailers are having a hard time keeping ice scrapers on the shelves.

If you dropped the ball and didn't buy an ice scraper weeks ago, you might have a tough time finding one now.

Advance Auto Parts, Auto Zone, and O'Reilly Auto Parts were all sold out.

Even the retail giant Wal-Mart was sold out of the items.

We stopped by Western Auto in Midland, and they say they can't keep them on the shelves.

"Started with four dozen, and sold out in a day and a half," Wiley Berggren said. He's the Western Auto store manager.

So for those left out in the cold, you're best option might be your defroster, and patience.
