While much of the nation debates a possible U.S. military action in Syria.
One group is already doing something to help victims of Syria's ongoing civil war.
In Houston, a non-profit called the "In-Kind Gifts Center", gathered donations to send to the war-torn country.
Many of the donations are food items.
Organizers believe sending food is "crucial".
"A lot of bags of rice, sugar, wheat, dry beans, anything that they can cook with. Anything that's edible. They can eat, they can survive. One bag of flour will sustain a family of 6 or 7 for like a week or so." says Syrian-American, Ayham Tibi.
In addition to food, the group is accepting everything from clothing to medical supplies.
