Good News, and Bad News for Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks started the day with great news, but things would quickly change as injuries put a halt in Cuban's Plan "B".
The Dallas Mavericks agreed to a 3-year / close to $30-million dollar contract with free agent Guard Monta Ellis this afternoon according to ESPN.

This signing helps solidify the Dallas back court alongside recently signed point guard Jose Calderon.

But then things took a turn down south for Mark Cuban and the Mavericks, as the verbal agreement between the team and free agent Devin Harris was taken off the table due to Harris having an injured toe that will require surgery. The Mavs are still interested in signing Harris, but the 3 year/$9 million dollar contract is no longer on the table and Harris is free to sign with who ever he pleases.

Not only did the Harris news happen, but first round draft pick, point guard Shane Larkin broke his ankle in the teams final practice before heading to Las Vegas for the start of Summer League games.

Larkin then tweeted "Yes it's true, but if you think I won't come back stronger than ever then you have the wrong guy. #GoMavs"

Larkin is expected to be out three months and is under going surgery tomorrow on his ankle, per a statement from the Mavericks organization.
