Golf Tips #15 08-04-13

PRO GOLFERS HIT DOWN ON THE BALL TO CREATE SPIN.  THE CLUB ALSO HITS THE GROUND AFTER IT HITS THE BALL.  CLUB PRO MIKE CROSSER TEACHES HORACE BROWN WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO MAKE CONTACT WITH MOTHER EARTH IN THIS WEEKS GOLF HEADQUARTER'S GOLF TIPS.
(Mike)  One thing that's really important about hitting the ground or trying to get spin on the ball is you gotta make sure first of all hit the ground.  So I'll us the lie board a lot to make sure you understand that sound.  You gotta get down on it first.  So just take a couple wacks so you make sure you hit down on it.  Now again that clubs gotta lie flat.  Good.  Now I'll just set a ball up.

(Horase)  Man that is straight at the flag.

(Mike)  Okay so now we'll take the crutch away.  Okay now you have to try it just on the ground.  Okay.  Tough deal.  Again just make sure the club sits flat.  Hit down on it.  Good!  There!  That's the sound I want right there!  Right in the belly that's good.
