Last season, Forsan's youth was served justice, to put it lightly... But this year, the Buffaloes are expecting that youth to carry them into this year's campaign.
"We ran into a little injury big in the middle of the year, and the kids were able to fight through it and we had lots of young guys step up in some key situations, especially our first district game against Haskell which we won. We had some young guys step up that are all back, which is good."
Coach Phillips has nine starters back on defense, which will undoubtedly be the Buffalo's forte.
"The defense right now is ahead. We're all healthy and right now everyone is just hustling."
"Especially with the experience we have after coming back on the defensive side of the ball. We're able to do lots of things defensively with our fronts and our coverage’s."
Up front clogging both sides of the ball will be senior Ausden Medrano, who will be depended on heavily to anchor the team.
"A strong, hard-working kid, and an up-front force. He's just one of those kids you love to have. He's hard to practice against 'cause we can't block him in practice and it's good to have him."
"I'm very excited and this year I just want to push it and give it my best and do whatever I can do to help the team out and give it all."
