Permian head coach Blake Feldt will try to avoid history Friday night by not being the first MOJO squad to start the season 0-4, and he'll have to work for it against the reigning five-time district champions -- the Abilene Eagles. Although the Eagles come into the contest 1-2, Feldt says by no means is he listening through the grapevine about Abilene's lackluster season thus far.
"The word throughout the Permian Basin is that they weren't going to be as good as they've been in past," said Feldt, "but I promise you they've got an excellent football team. Coach Warren has been there forever it's a well established program. They do a great job week-in and week-out. They're very athletic; got some great football players. I'm really impressed with their quarterback. He's done a fantastic job for them. He's got a good arm, he throws the ball well, and he can also run."
