Water Line Break in Big Spring Restricts Water Use

Non-essential water use is currently ban Wednesday evening Big Spring.
BIG SPRING, TX (LOCAL BIG 2 NEWS) -- Non-essential water use is ban Wednesday evening in Big Spring.

The city works to repair a main water-line break near 10th and Owners, by the Howard College Athletic Training Center.

The city reports the 20-inch line break could leave some without water and others with low pressure or dirty water.

As crews work to repair the break, officials say you can only use water for basic living necessities. City officials stated in a release: “Outside watering, washing vehicles, filling of swimming pools, flushing water lines, wetting ground for construction, or any other non-essential uses of water will be strictly prohibited during this time.”

The city hopes to have the repair complete by late this evening.
