Vet Clinic Treating Animal Recovering From Abuse

The West Texas Emergency Veterinarian Clinic is treating a pitbull after veterinarians say a person cut off the dog's ears.
MIDLAND, TX (Big 2 News) -- The West Texas Emergency Veterinarian Clinic is treating a pitbull after veterinarians say a person cut off the dog's ears.

We're told ear cropping is a cosmetic procedure that's common for pitbulls, but that in order for it be humane, it needs to be done under veterinarian supervision.

"Right now we're just making sure he's cared for, loved for right now" Stephanie Neie, a staff member at the clinic says.

"We're boarding him until we can find him a good home."

Despite the injuries, Neie tells us the dog is in good spirits.
