USPS Looking For 50+ New Employees in Midland/Odessa

The USPS is looking to fill more than 50 positions in the Midland-Odessa area.

MIDLAND, TX (Big 2 News) -- The USPS is looking to fill more than 50 positions in the Midland-Odessa area.

MIDLAND, TX – Next week, the U.S. Postal Service will be sponsoring free Postal Job Fairs at the Workforce Solutions Permian Basin offices in Odessa, 2626 JBS Pkwy, Building D, and Midland, 3600 N. Garfield, Technology Center Room #138.  The Midland Job Fair will be held on Monday, March 31, and the Odessa Job Fair will be on Tuesday, April 1.  Both events will be from at 8 am to 5 pm.  Applicants should expect to spend approximately one hour to complete the application process. Hands-on assistance with the Postal Service’s online application process will be available to ensure applications are submitted on the spot. 

The Postal Service is now accepting applications for Rural Carrier Associate (RCA); Career City Carrier; and City Carrier Assistant (CCA) jobs for the Midland-Odessa area, and also for Big Spring, Andrews, Pecos, Monahans, Kermit and Ft Stockton.  The Postal Service will fill up to 53 positions that will soon be available at the Midland Post Office (27) and at the Odessa Post Office (26).  Scheduled work days for these positions will normally be Monday through Saturday, with an average 36-hour work week for CCAs and a 24-hour work week for RCAs.  Salary for these positions will be $15.30/hour for CCAs and $16.26/hour for RCAs. Career Carriers are paid $16.71/hour to start. 

The RCA and CCA positions are non-career, with limited benefits, but can lead to rewarding career appointments with the full benefits of a federal employee.  Note: Limited benefits for CCAs include paid vacation days, contractual pay raises, and access to the USPS non-career Employee Health Benefits Plan.

For people unable to attend the job fairs, Postal Service job positions are being announced and posted online at  under the "search jobs and apply online section."  Local jobs and other positions across the state are posted weekly. Anyone wishing to apply for a specific job must do so within the job announcement period. The Postal Service encourages applicants to check the web page often to keep up with any changes in various position openings.
