Two Lee Rebels sign to play college soccer

Deonna Calhoun and Darius Strambler both signed to continue their soccer careers at the next level.
Two Midland Lee soccer players signed to continue their playing careers at the collegiate level this afternoon.

Deonna Calhoun signed to play at Abilene Christian University. Calhoun said she loved the campus and she felt comfortable with the players she met while on her visit. When asked about what this day means to her, Calhoun said "It's great. I'm already achieving my dreams and I'm going to keep going. I started when I was ten so since then I knew I had passion for it."

The other Lee student-athlete to sign was Darius Strambler, who will be headed north to Lubbock to play for Lubbock Christian University. Strambler's head coach at LCU will be Matt Barnes, who also coaches the Sockers FC team here in Midland.

Strambler was extremely grateful for all of the people who have helped him get this far.

"It's a blessing. Especially since it's been a dream of mine since I first started playing and I started watching all of the pros. It's just another dream that came true. I just want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to go play" said Strambler.
