The Raiders Look To Go 3-0

LUBBOCK -- Texas Tech is back home this weekend, wrapping up the non conference schedule with New Mexico.

The Loboes come into town with a 1-1 record and a new look lead by former Notre Dame head coach Bob Davie. After more than a decade away from the sidelines, Davie is in the process of turning around a Loboes team that has won just one game in each of the last three seasons.

"Coaching is coaching; he's stayed involved with it," head coach Tommy Tuberville said. "Even though he hasn't been coaching, he's been around it, going to a lot of games and being an announcer, traveling and talking football.

"It's like riding a bicycle. Coaching gets in your blood, and I'm sure that's the reason he wanted to get back into it. Watching the films this year and watching the films in the past, there wasn't a lot of confidence going on, but you can tell these guys are having fun."

"The biggest thing that jumps out to me is how hard they play," quarterback Seth Doege said. "They play a lot harder this year. They have a new coach and I think he has them playing a whole lot harder. I know there defensive line is going to be our biggest test so far."

The Loboes are coming off of a 45-0 loss to Texas. The Red Raiders are 33 point favorites over the Loboes. Saturday's game kicks off at 6:00 p.m. and can be seen on Fox College Sports.
