TAPPS Realignment: Midland Chrsitian Football Heading to Division I

TAPPS realignment for 2014-16 was released today, so what happens with Midland Christian and Midland Trinity?
The Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, usually known as TAPPS, released their alignment change for 2014 through 2016 this afternoon.

The Midland Trinity Chargers will remain in TAPPS Six Man Division I for Football, so no change there.

For Midland Christian, the Mustangs Football program will jump from TAPPS Division II up to TAPPS Division I. Midland Christian will remain in TAPPS 4A for all of their other athletics.

MCS head coach Greg McClendon isn't worried about his football team making the jump, and is excited for the opportunity.

"It's going to be a huge step for football playing in Division one. Playing Fort Worth Nolan Catholic and Trinity Christian - Addison. We're going into what would be the equivalent of Allen and Southlake Carroll. We've got a piece of asphalt out back of the field house and we'll get it on right out there with whoever and what ever. It'll be a challenge for our kids and a challenge I think we're ready to step up to, and we'll take it however it comes" said McClendon.
