The Stanton Buffaloes will be extremely experienced coming in to the 2013 football season. The Buffaloes have eight offensive players returning, the most notable being Senior Running Back Tim Anderson, who led the district in rushing yards a year ago.
"Tim Anderson running the ball is part of what we're going to do. K.J. Glaspie though throwing the ball as a sophomore he gained a lot of experience. We're trying to be better balanced this year and give ourselves a better attack on the offensive side. We're instituting a new defense this year and we're excited about it and we look forward to the results that it's going to produce."
The Buffaloes finished 4-6 last season, but fell victim to the injury bug. This team is making sure to forget the past and focus on the present and the task at hand, which is winning a district title.
"It's exciting being on, everybody's excited. But last year was last year, and this year is a new year. I have a great line, they're experienced. I've had them for three years now and hopefully this year will go great."
Junior K.J. Glaspie is returning as the starting Quarterback for his Junior campaign, and he has high expectations for himself and his teammates.
"Just to work hard and keep getting better each practice and working hard. Do the best we can and get a few rounds in the playoffs and win some games."
The Stanton Buffaloes start the season on August 30th, when they travel to play Denver City. Reporting from Stanton, Travis Weeks, Big Board Sports.
