Semi Accident in Martin County Causes Massive Fire

Flames with a huge plume of smoke could be seen after a semi accident on the westbound side of I-20 in Martin County on Tuesday.
Martin County, TX (Big 2 News) - A fiery semi crash in Martin County Tuesday shut down westbound lanes near mile marker 163 on I-20.

Troopers said the crash involved two semis, one of which was broken down on the side of the road.

The driver of the broken down semi left reflective warning triangles out by his truck, but was hit by another semi driving by.

The crash caused a diesel leak, sparking a huge fire with plumes of black smoke.

Troopers redirected traffic, closing down westbound lanes as crews worked to put out the fire.

All lanes were reopened and the fire extinguished by 5:00 pm Tuesday.

One driver, employed by Card Moore Trucking, was cited for failure to drive in a single lane.
