Royals agree to terms with Bonifacio, Hochevar and Hosmer

<p>The Kansas City Royals have agreed to terms with infielder Emilio Bonifacio, pitcher Luke Hochevar and first baseman Eric Hosmer on one-year contracts, avoiding arbitration.</p>

Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Royals have agreed to terms with infielder Emilio Bonifacio, pitcher Luke Hochevar and first baseman Eric Hosmer on one-year contracts, avoiding arbitration.

According to the Kansas City Star, Bonifacio will make $3.5 million, Hochevar $5.2 million and Hosmer 3.6 million this upcoming season.

Bonifacio hit .285 with 11 RBI and 16 stolen bases in 42 games after joining Kansas City in an August 14 trade from Toronto. He played in a combined 136 games with the Blue Jays and Royals, stealing a total of 28 bases.

Hochevar went 5-2 with a 1.92 ERA in 58 relief appearances with Kansas City in 2013. In 2012, the right-hander went 8-16 with a 5.73 ERA in 32 starts with the Royals.

Hosmer batted .302 with a career-high 34 doubles, 17 homers and 79 RBI in 159 games with the Royals in 2013. To top it off, he won the AL Gold Glove Award, the first Royals first baseman to do so.
