Rebels Clinch Playoff Birth with Victory Over Tascosa

Midland Lee can relax now that they've clinched a playoff spot, but this year's Rebels don't plan on taking it easy any time soon.
Midland Lee failed to make the playoffs in 2012 after losing their final game of the season. This year will be different for the Rebels as they have already clinched a playoff spot with two regular season games remaining, including a big time rivalry match up against Odessa Permian Friday night from Ratliff.

The Rebels are coming off a 42-28 victory over Amarillo Tascosa and remained unbeaten at 6-0 in district play.

Lee head coach James Morton said this about his team's effort against Tascosa, "It was big, I was very proud of our defense. The two previous weeks we hadn't played very well on run defense. I thought we were back to playing pretty solid. Obviously Tascosa is going to give you a lot of option and I thought we were disciplined. Probably the most disciplined game that we've played. We ended up getting some points on the board late, but overall it was 42-7 in the third quarter with about five minutes to go. I was pleased really with the way that we played on both sides of the ball."
