Rangers Acquire Garza From Cubs

The Texas Rangers acquired Cubs RHP Matt Garza in a trade this afternoon, according to multiple sources.
The talks of a trade between the Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs for right handed pitcher Matt Garza heated up, then quieted back down last weekend.

This afternoon, the Rangers made the move, pending physicals of the players involved.

Texas will receive pitcher Matt Garza, who is 6-1 with a 3.17 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 11 starts for the Cubs.

Chicago will receive Triple-A 3B Mike Olt, Class-A RHP C.J. Edwards, RHP Justin Grimm, and a player to be named later.

The move strengthens the Rangers starting rotation, which has been depleted due to injuries in 2013.
