Permian Youth Shows Inexperience; Feldt Expects Growth Will Come

New Permian head coach Blake Feldt knows his team is young, but expects them to make big strides during the 2013 season.

Week zero is well in the books, but that doesn't mean teams are forgetting the end result, especially when you're a team like Odessa Permian. The MOJO not only suffered their first loss under the Blake Feldt era but it took place at home against El Paso Montwood.

The Panthers wrap up their non-district schedule this Friday on the road against Frenship, and today, coach Feldt talked about his young squad's performance and the growth that will come with experience.

"We played like a team that's very inexperienced, that's very young. We've only got seven players on our varsity that have any significant playing time at that level and playing on Friday night and I thought that we looked that way many times. I think we're going to get better each and every week -- because again-- I was very proud of the way we played as far as playing hard but we didn't necessarily play well" said Feldt.
