Odessa, TX (Local Big 2 News) - Nearly 400 fathers and daughters attended the Daddy Daughter dance in Odessa Saturday.

Officials tell Local Big 2, last year tickets for the dance quickly sold out, so two separate dances were held Saturday evening.

This year's theme was "masquerade ball".

Children were given masks to wear for the dance before entering the ballroom.

Event organizers say the Daddy Daughter dance is a way for children and fathers and make traditions and make memories.

"It's a spectacular time for dads and daughters to bond and have a moment together," said Lisa Housman, president for the Junior League of Odessa.

"What we do is basically teach them how they should be treated when they grow up. And so, we're instilling values and tradition and memories," said Chris Hallmark, recreation and special events coordinator for the City of Odessa's parks department.

A few Disney princesses even made a surprise appearance at the dance and performed a song on the dance floor.
