ODESSA, TX (Local Big 2) -- The Boys and Girls Club in Odessa gets a garden for its kids. Volunteers helped to build the gardening area Tuesday.

Organizers with the non-profit say the garden center will help teach the kids how to grow their own food and about making healthy food choices.

Employees with Vivint, a home security provider, helped to construct the garden planters as one of the company's local service projects.

“To be able to give these kids an opportunity to learn something new and experience something new is always a good feeling,” Jordan Leishman, a Vivint sales manager, explained.

The Boys and Girls Club is non-profit organization that provides children a fun and safe learning environment.
