Mustangs One Win Away From Perfect Season; 3rd Straight State Title

No Midland Christian team has ever finished a season undefeated, and this years Mustangs are one win away from making history.
No team has ever gone undefeated in Midland Christian history. This years Mustangs are trying to change that. MCS is 13-0 and has one more game left in 2013, the TAPPS Division II State Championship.

The Mustangs will take on Katy Pope John XXIII on Saturday, December 7th at 12:00 p.m. from Tiger Field in Corsicana.

During their playoff run, MCS has outscored their opponents 172-13, and on the season have outscored opponents 697-42. This team is for real. This team is a dynasty. This is arguably the best team to ever play in Mustang uniforms.

Under head coach Greg McClendon, the Mustangs are 6-0 in state title games. After their most recent victory, this is how McClendon described his team. "This bunch is like shark week with chum in the water. Once they smell the blood they go and they aim for the kill. Once we got it rolling it just got out of hand pretty quick, the other team's head dropped a little bit and that was the end of that. We have three goals. One is to start fast, one is to finish strong, and the other is to have fun. I think we accomplished all three of those on Saturday."

Find out next week if this group of Midland Christian seniors cemented themselves in the history books, and established a true dynasty.
