Midland Trinity 2013 Football Season Preview

The Midland Trinity Chargers will have a new look on offense in 2013, and a new head coach that brings a load of confidence.

With a new coach comes new expectations, and with Antwan Alexander taking over at Midland Trinity this season, expect things to change for the Chargers, but for the better.

“Just understand that once a new coach comes in, change is not always bad, it’s just different. It gets the morality of the fans, the community, and the athletes excited” said Coach Alexander.

Coach Alexander is making sure that his players and coaches stay excited from day one of practice, until the season comes to an end.

Junior RB/QB Ethan Samuels said “The atmosphere is really energetic surprisingly. A lot more energetic than last year. I think Coach Alexander brings a lot to the table. He’s really excited, and we’re really excited too and I think it’s going to be a great season.”

The Chargers were a run heavy team in 2012, but you can expect an electric passing attack in 2013.

“We have a lot of new formations, a lot of new plays, a lot of new routes. It’s going to be a whole lot of passing this year, not as much running but I’m sure we’ll see some running in there.

This team is young, with no seniors, and only two returning starters on offense. But one thing you can’t do is count them out of competing for a district title.

Junior offensive lineman Jonah Starck added “I think we have a lot of young players that are going to be able to step up this year. We’re going to have to put in a lot more work, but I think we’ll get through it.”
