Midland and Odessa are participating in the annual Great Texas Warrant Roundup, which begins on March 1.

“Individuals with outstanding warrants will be the primary focus of Odessa Police Officers,” the Odessa Police said.

People who have pending warrants could be arrested at any time and location, police said.

“To avoid the inconvenience and embarrassment of arrest, defendants can make payments during the next seven days to dispose of their cases voluntarily,” authorities said.

The Odessa Municipal court is offering to waive the $50 warrant fee if someone voluntarily disposes their case between February 24 and February 28.

Examples of pending warrants include traffic citations, parking tickets, code enforcement violations, failure to sterilize a pet adopted from the Odessa Animal Shelter and other violations of the Odessa Municipal code or state law, police said.

In Odessa, residents will receive a notice of their warrants.

In Midland, warrant notices have been mailed to defendants with outstanding warrants notifying them of the warrant.

The Great Texas Warrant Roundup is held every year in hopes of cracking down on pending warrants for minor violations.
