Midland Lee Survives Abilene; Morton Pleased with Poise

The Rebels played a roller coaster of a game with the Eagles, and in the end hit a game winning 38 yard field goal to win 53-51.
It was a roller coaster of a game, lead changes left and right, but in the end the Midland Lee Rebels put together a game winning drive capped off by a 38 yard field goal by Junior kicker Brady Roper.

After giving up the lead late, Rebels head coach James Morton was satisfied with how his team responded, saying "0:39 seconds to go, I think the thing that was most encouraging was the kids on our sideline. There wasn't any panic, they talked about believing. Caden did a great job managing the clock and the kids were aware of it, and he got us into field goal range. We had to call a time out to stop the clock, and that iced it a little bit more for Brady and he stepped right in and did a great job kicking the field goal for us."
