Midland Businessman Killed in Plane Crash

Raymond Alan Hofman, 38, of Midland died as he was training with a newly purchased aircraft, according to DPS.
The CEO of a local oil company was killed in a plane crash in Stephens County on Tuesday.

Raymond Alan Hofman, 38, of Midland died as he was training with a newly purchased aircraft, according to DPS.

Hofman was flying a Hawker, Sea Fury ISS-25, Fixed wing single engine. He was the only person on the plane.

While flying, Hofman experienced a problem with handling, causing the plane to nose dive and crash into a heavily wooded area, DPS said.

Hofman was killed on impact.

He was taken to Morehart Funeral Home in Breckenridge
