Man Charged in Connection to Bomb Threat in Midland

The Federal Bureau of Investigation released new information on a bomb threat that caused a Midland hotel to evacuate.

The bomb threat occurred on Monday at the Hilton Double Tree Hotel on Wall Street, the FBI said.

Jesse Lucas, 20, was arrested by the Midland Police Department in connection to the bomb threat.

He had his initial appearance before Judge Counts Tuesday. According to the FBI, he is unemployed.

Lucas was charged by criminal complaint with one count of making a bomb threat to a hotel affecting interstate commerce, the FBI said. He faces up to ten years in federal prison and a maximum $250,000 fine upon conviction. It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.

The FBI and Midland Police Department worked together to investigate the incident.
