Lee's Morton Proud of Rebels Bounce Back Win vs. Cooper

The Lee Rebels could've stayed down after their loss to Southlake, but they chose to work hard and it paid off after their 42-35 victory over Abilene Cooper.
The Midland Lee Rebels bounced back strongly after their 63-14 loss to the Southlake Carroll Dragons. Hosting Abilene Cooper for the district 2-5A opener from Grande Communications Stadium, the Rebels started fast and held on to win the game 42-35 over Lorenzo Joe's Cougars.

Coach Morton knows his defense has work to do, but he was pleased with his defense putting on the clamps when necessary. Morton was also satisfied with the energy that was brought to the entire team after the Rebels scored on their opening possession.

"It was huge. I think if you go back to the previous week and the lack of success that we had, and I'm sure questions and eyebrows were raised. I credit our kids first of all for coming out and preparing all week. Being able to start like that it gave them a sense of confidence and gave us all a boost of energy that we needed for the game" said Morton.
