Lee Rebels Zero Week

The Lee Rebels are gearing up for game one of the regular season, and Head Coach James Morton wants his team to focus on one play at a time.

The Midland Lee Rebels kick off their 2013 season against El Paso Coronado on Friday night from Grande Communications Stadium. Coach Morton's Rebels went through a quarterback battle in the spring and today he announced that Caden Coots will be the starter in game number one.

The Rebels have an extremely athletic offense coming into this year, and Coots will have plenty of weapons to spread the ball around to. Coach Morton talked about what he wants his guys to focus on when they take the field for the first game of the season.

Morton said "Just thrive on the situation and enjoy the moment. Just being there and being in the moment and being big. We have to focus on ourselves and not focus on the opponent. Just take it one play at a time. I think that's a big thing that we've harped on all year after going back and looking at last year's season. It comes back to just putting the last play behind you and spotting the ball and moving on to the next play."
