Lee Rebels Must Establish Run vs. Coronado

Head Coach James Morton wants to make sure the Rebels establish a strong running game Friday night versus Lubbock Coronado.
The Midland Lee Rebels (2-1, 1-0) are gearing up to travel to Lubbock on Friday night and take on the Coronado Mustangs. The Rebels are coming off a bye week where head coach James Morton tried as best as he could to keep momentum alive after his team knocked off Abilene Cooper in their district opener 42-35 from Grande.

Coronado is coming off a loss to those same Cooper Cougars, 56-28 from Shotwell Stadium. But one thing Morton noticed about the Mustangs was that they have very good team speed, and the Rebels must limit allowing a big play.

As far as his team is concerned offensively, Morton wants to establish the run, saying "You know I think the big thing is that we focus on what we do. I think execution has got to stay at a premium. I think if you're focusing on one area then we have got to be able to run the ball. We have to establish the line of scrimmage with our lineman, and making sure they know mentally what they're doing up front."
