Dozens of West Texans took part in the 29th annual Texas Leadership Forum held in Austin.
AUSTIN -- Dozens of West Texans took part in the 29th annual Texas Leadership Forum held in Austin.

The three-day, statewide forum focused on improving leadership skills, while also opening up conversations about topics important to the Lone Star State.

Economist Dr. Ray Perryman was the featured speaker at the opening general session on Friday morning. Then breakout sessions delved into specific issues and professional skills. State Representative Tryon Lewis and State Senator Kel Seliger were two of the more than a dozen leaders who presented breakout sessions.

The forum culminated with its annual awards dinner Friday night, recognizing young leaders and accomplished leaders across the state. Big 2's Shelby Levins was honored to serves as the dinner's emcee.

The forum was sponsored by the John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute.
