Lauren Tropea

Lauren Tropea joined KMID Big 2 News in February 2014 as a Multimedia Journalist.

She came to the Permian Basin from the Valley of the Sun. She was raised in Scottsdale, Arizona and headed to Texas for the first time to join the Big 2 News team.

Lauren attended Arizona State University, where she graduated Summa Cum laude with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
While in college, Lauren held quite a few internships including one at KSAZ-TV in Phoenix, where she assisted reporters with breaking news stories. She also interned with the Harlem Globetrotters and produced a nightly newscast for Arizona PBS.
Lauren was a multimedia journalist for Cronkite NewsWatch, an award-winning nightly newscast on Arizona PBS. While reporting for Cronkite NewsWatch, she covered drug smuggling at the Arizona-Mexico border, as well as several breaking news stories.

When Lauren is not reporting, she enjoys cooking, Football, playing her violin and volunteering at homeless shelters.
