Hailey Dunn's Mother Arrested And Charged

Billie Jean Dunn -- the mother of missing teenager Hailey Dunn --  has been arrested and charged with three crimes in Mitchell County.
COLORADO CITY -- Billie Jean Dunn -- the mother of missing teenager Hailey Dunn --  has been arrested and charged with three crimes in Mitchell County.

    Mitchell County jail records show Billie Dunn is behind bars, and Colorado City Manager Pete Kampfer has confirmed that she was escorted from her home to the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office on Thursday. The Mitchell County District Attorney's Office says the sheriff's office went to Billie Jean Dunn's home to serve a warrant on her boyfriend Shawn Adkins. The D.A.'s Office says Billie Jean Dunn lied and said he wasn't at home, so she was taken into custody and then questioned.

    Billie Jean Dunn's charged with hindering apprehension and prosecution, possession of dangerous drugs, and false report to officers. She'll go before a judge Friday, when her bond will be set.

    Scurry County Sheriff's deputies and Department of Public Safety troopers also went to the home of Adkins' grandmother in Scurry County Thursday night. Officers removed several items from the home.

    Both Billie Jean Dunn and Shawn Adkins have been named as "persons of interest" in the disappearance of Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn. Hailey Dunn went missing on December 27, 2010.
