ODESSA, TX (Local Big 2 News) -- A former Odessa Police officer is under arrest again. Salvador Becerra has now been arrested three times in three months. Becerra is accused of both sexual activity and sexual assault while on duty.

"Another victim came forward and said that he acted inappropriately with her while she was in custody," said District Attorney Bobby Bland.

District Attorney Bobby Bland says Becerra is now facing a total of seven charges.

"Six counts of improper sexual activity with a person in custody as well as one count of sexual assault," said Bland.

The latest charge of improper sexual activity with a person in custody was filed earlier this week, after a grand jury returned its indictment against Becerra.

A warrant was issued in connection with the indictment that came down on Tuesday," said Bland.

According to the indictment, prior to this week, six victims had already come forward. One person accused Becerra of sexual assault. Five others accused the now former officer of groping them.

"An additional person came forward after he'd already been jailed for five other counts," said Bland.

The alleged seven victims say they were assaulted and improperly touched between, February 16th and March 29th.

"This has definitely been a black eye for the department," said Public Information Officer Steve LeSueur.

The Odessa Police Department terminated Becerra after his first arrest back in March.

Public Information Officer Steve LeSueur says the force is still working to move forward.

"We work everyday to gain the trust and respect of the citizens," said LeSueur.

Becerra was arrested again Thursday, being taken into custody by U.S. Marshals. He's now behind bars in the Ector County Jail on a bond totaling a $125,000.

"The judge combined all the bonds he was on before and increased them as well," said Bland.

If convicted, Bland tells me each charge of improper sexual activity with a person in custody, carries a maximum sentence of two years. Meanwhile, the sexual assault charge has a much longer maximum sentence.

"Up to 20 years," said Bland.

U.S. Marshals say Becerra's arraignment is scheduled for June 9th. At that time, I'm told he will have the option of a court appointed attorney if he so chooses.
